RIDGE TOPS & RIVER BOTTOMS

Ridge Tops & River Bottoms is not available in 2007 due to recent forest fires.

We begin this trip near Fish Lake (elev. 6760 feet). We ascend through timber to the meadows of Sugarloaf Mountain which provides unsurpassed views of the Granites and spectacular scenery which surrounds Pine Valley. We camp for two nights at the headwaters of Ice Creek. On our second day, we can take a day hike along ridges budding with wildflowers and view the striking vistas of Red Mountain still cloaked in snow. On our third day, we hike down Blue Creek and the Imnaha River to our camp for the third and fourth nights near the confluence of the North Fork. On the fourth day, we can relax at nearby waterfalls or hike up the North Fork. On our last day, we hike along the Imnaha River to the Indian Crossing trailhead.
